God's little angels

Her laughter. Her screams. Her eyes. The tiny mouth. The little fingers. Her sweet blue-and-white polka-dot dress. Her cheeky smile, that tilts sideways. The way she claps her hands when she laughs. The way she leans back so I can cuddle her closer. The way she holds on to me for dear life when I swing her around. How she quickly said goodbye to her mother when I teased her that I was bringing her home with me. The way she repeatedly beat my brother so that he would pretend to cry. And then, she would laugh like there was no tomorrow!

Man, this little girl my brother and I met yesterday.. she was truly magical. Her actions were enthralling, I couldn't keep my eyes off her. Sadly, I don't think I'll ever meet her again. Darshaini Priya, you lovely princess, you're our little angel. The hours yesterday went by so quick because of you sweetie and we thank you. You'll always have a special place in our hearts, love.

I LOVE kids. especially the little ones. They're so darn adorable!! Like I tell my brother all the time: why the hell did you have to grow up so quickly?! I love him all the same, but still! Sigh, kids are really captivating!! Have friends who simply hate children. I don't understand that, but respect their opinions all the same. Personally, I just find it so amazing when children do the littlest things! Some of them are so intelligent, it blows my mind!

Mostly, it's their innocence that is so attractive. Their inability to lie - that's a gift. Children are indeed blessings. They are bright little sparks in their own ways. Bright and beautiful. I love how they smile when you smile at them, whether they know you personally or not. How often does an adult return a friendly smile? Kids do!

I simply adore the funny and often crazily imaginative stories they tell. My niece has flown in a kettle to a beautiful fairy-land where they made her the princess because she was so beautiful and smart. A boy I met in India rowed his boat to a faraway land and was the richest boy there (he met a lot of funny creatures on the way, but essentially became the richest person on the "faraway land"). My friend's son, Zachery, insists that somewhere in the world ALL the Zachery-s live together (happily ever after) and that I should bring him there as soon as I find the time. Oh, and that place, no prizes for guessing, is called.. Zachery. And this beautiful little girl Janani, the daughter of my dad's friend, says she dreamt of her Prince Charming before she started school (she's in Kindy 2 this year) and he is now her classmate! My bad, for reading her Sleeping Beauty and the likes.

Was inspired to pen this entry by that little girl we met. God bless her and all children alike. God's little angels, they are. They bring a smile and a ready hug wherever they go. Shit loadsa tears too, but let's focus on the good stuff ya? Hug a kid and feel that overwhelming sense of peace. It's amazing! =)
